You know what was toxic? Us growing up and constantly being labelled by being either stereotypically a girly girl or tomboy. Then you realizing you’re both, because you know, some days you want to (stereotypes) wear sweats and play games and other days you want to dress up and feel glam. And feeling like you’re wrong for doing one or the other, because then what are you?

Anyway I’m glad we grew out of that as we grew up but damn. If you kids are going through this now: you’re valid; your gender is valid; your hobbies are valid; you do you and enjoy what you love.

I remember being so proud of being a ‘tom-boy’ because liking ‘girly’ things was bad and made fun of. Like I had an active hatred for the colour pink because it was so shoved down my throat that is was the girl colour but if I actually showed an interest in something pink I got 'Eugh of course you would like that it’s pink’ HUH
