Yeah first movie established his weapon industry was very clearly in the aid of the US military using it on vague middle eastern stereotypes.

And it’s also said that Howard Stark first did it by expanding his weapon contracts with the US government way into the 21st century.

Dude was literally shown popping champagne bottles after demonstrating a bunch of his nifty new missiles in action. Either he’s the world’s dumbest genius, or he just didn’t fucking care about the consequences of his weapons until he was faced with them himself. Those are your only two options.

I actually meant that when he was created in the sixties he was a war profiteer, but yeah, good point.
