frankly? ban all plastics. require all public buildings to be solar powered. public community gardens in every neighborhood. ban all pesticides. ban fossil fuels. put wind turbines on every sky scraper. gardens on every rooftop. tax cars and fund public transportation. build bike lanes across every city. train/railroad infrastructure across the country (tear down highways). every state mandated to have a certain percentage of land be a wildlife preserve. local/organic farms get huge tax breaks. raise the minimum wage. aquaponics farms in every city. every family has chickens in their backyard. community composting. jeff bezos’s body for fertilizer. i have a clear idea of what i want the world to look like and i want it now. hire me

Sorry people who need glasses to drive, you have to go back to glass lenses, which are much heavier and dangerous to your eyes if you fall. And no more contact lenses either.
Sorry people who need a heart stent or an artificial valve. You get to, well, die
Need an artificial hip or knee? Nope.
Need surgery? Your survival chances just dropped significantly because your surgeon no longer has disposable gloves, etc.
Need a vaccine? Well, let’s see, we can…we can use a washable glass syringe, sure, and you’ll catch whatever the last person had. What about that insulin you need to not die unpleasantly? It just got even harder to obtain and deal with. Your blood glucose meter is now much more expensive.
Need an MRI? Nope, we had to stop doing those because we couldn’t use any tools near them.
Need a prosthetic? Here’s your hook.
Better keep your meds well away from the kids, because they no longer have childproof tops on them.
If we ban all plastics people will die.
What we need is to create plastics that don’t have the environmental issues. Reduce unnecessary use of plastic sure, but not all use of plastic is unnecessary.
You need to think through your absolutes. We all do. Even banning plastic straws is horribly ableist.
